It is with great pleasure that we invite you to Shale Gas and Public Health: Translating Science into Policy, a public health summit hosted by the Environmental Health Project (EHP).
The summit will take place at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on February 22, 2022, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The summit will feature speakers in four key areas: endocrine disruption, child health and development, health economics, and environmental justice. Speakers will include, respectively, Dr. Linda Birnbaum (National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences), Dr. Élyse Caron-Beaudoin (University of Toronto Scarborough), Dr. Nicholas Muller (Carnegie Mellon University), and Rev. Dr. Gregory Simpson (Nauraushaun Presbyterian Church).
After a morning plenary session to frame the various issues, attendees will participate in breakout group discussions over a catered lunch. The summit will close with a plenary panel to highlight relevant insights, recommendations, and further questions to be answered. In-person attendance includes participation in the morning and afternoon plenary sessions, as well as the lunchtime breakout discussion groups. Virtual attendance includes view-only access to the morning and afternoon plenary sessions.
COVID-19 PROTOCOLS: All in-person attendees will be required to show proof of vaccination at the registration table. Please contact EHP directly if you have questions about what constitutes "fully vaccinated."
This event will follow any health-protective guidance in place from the CDC, State of Pennsylvania, Allegheny County, and Duquesne University on February 22, 2022.
Thank you for your partnership with EHP and your commitment to public health. We look forward to seeing you at the event.
